Display your organization's social media feed with The Social Media Tool!
*Note: Please note that this tool works in conjunction with the Social Stream Tool Database; add your content to the database/connect a social media account before proceeding.
Add the Social Media Tool to a Page
- Click Add Content.
- Select the Main or Right Panel tab in the Tool Menu.
- Locate the Social Media Tool under Community.
- Click and drag the tool to the Main or Right Panel of the page.
- The Social Media Properties screen will display.
- Select the type of feed you'd like to add.
- Select/deselect your account(s)
- Select from the following options (based on social media account).
- Select/deselect Include Facebook Activity.
- Select/deselect Include Other User's Posts to Your Page. (Select if you would like to include posts by non-administrators.)
- Select/deselect Include Images in Feed.
- Show the most recent posts: Type the number of posts you will like to display.
- Click Save(or Cancel to discard your changes).
- Type a heading in the Add Header field.
- The tool defaults to Active status. (Click to select Inactive if you want to publish the content at a later date.)
- If Active, the tool will be accessible.
- If Inactive, the tool will not be accessible or visible on the page.
- Click Done(or delete the entire tool by clicking Delete in the Social Media toolbar).
To make any needed edits, simply click into the tool. Click Options to edit Social Media Properties.
*Note: Once added, you can move or copy your tool to another page by clicking Move/Copy in the Social Media toolbar.
Schedule An Access Status Change
You can schedule a tool to become Active or Inactive on a specific date.
- Click into the tool.
- Click Schedule in the Social Media toolbar.
- Select a Date for the status change.
- Select a New Access Status.
- If Active, the tool will be accessible.
- If Inactive, the tool will not be accessible or visible on the page.
- Type your email address(es) in the Notify Email Address(es) field if you want to be notified of the status change.
- Click Save(or Cancel to discard your changes).
