For events that take place in your portal, you can organize your to-do items on the Next Steps page using the Prompt Setup and All Next Steps tabs. From the Dashboard menu, select Next Steps.
Prompt Setup
To trigger a notification, first enable a prompt on the Prompt Setup tab. To do this, go to the Prompt Setup tab and click the Enable Prompt button on a tile.
If the tile is already enabled, click the Customize Prompt button to edit the prompt.
Either button opens the Customize Prompt window for the given tile.
Customize Each Prompt
As an admin, you can decide what specifications you would like your notification to contain. In the Customize Prompt window, the Next Step section lets you choose what the notification says. The content that you enter in the Next Step section is what will appear on the All Next Steps page. In the Due Date section, it lets you set how many days after the notification is created that the due date is set. The default is set to 5 days, and you have the option to change it to 2, 10, or 30 days.
After you have saved and enabled a prompt for the first time, the process of creating next steps will begin. When it has finished, the next steps will appear on the All Next Steps table. This process could take a few seconds to a few minutes to complete.
You can later customize the prompt again to update the Next Step text or the number of days before the Due Date is set. You can also choose to Disable Prompt so that no further next steps will be created.

All Next Steps Page
Once you’ve enabled a prompt, the system starts to track the event. Every fifteen minutes, the system checks to see if, for example, a church member donates for the first time, or hasn’t donated in six months, or has given a generous donation. When an event occurs, your All Next Steps page shows a new row with all the information you set up in the Customize Prompt window for that prompt, and a new Prompt activity is added to that profile’s Timeline tab.
The All Next Steps table lists all your outstanding and completed next steps organized by Status and Due date. By default, the list is filtered to exclude any next steps with a status of Completed or Ignored. You can change the filter settings using the dropdown options in the table, or you can filter results by a specific profile using the Search.
Complete or Ignore Next Steps
Next steps can be managed either from the All Next Steps tab Actions menu, or from the profile Timeline Actions menu.
You can Mark as Complete or Ignore a next step using the Actions menu. When you have taken action on a next step, the All Next Steps table updates and a new Prompt activity is added to the donor’s profile on the Timeline tab.
When you select Mark as Complete, the status of the next step changes to Completed and the completed date is added to the All Next Steps table. When you select Ignore, the status of the next step changes to Ignored and that next step for that profile is ignored forever, meaning it will never be associated with the profile again. You can change a next step from Ignored to Completed to enable the profile to once again be eligible for a new next step to be created.
