The Social Stream Database Tool allows you to connect your website to social media feeds and add social media posts to your website. Before you can post , you must connect a social media account.
*Note: This database works in conjunction with the Social Media Tool. Information must be entered in the database before this tool can be placed on a page.
Permissions
If you do not see Social Stream, you may need to turn on permissions.
- Go to Site Manager.
- Click Tool Databases.
- Click People.
- Click the user name under User Accounts.
- Click the Website Admin tab.
- Click Social Stream.
- Click Save.
Connect to a Social Media Account
- Go to Site Manager.
- Click Tool Databases.
- Click Social Stream.
- Click Add Account.
- Select an account:
- Add Facebook Account
- Add Twitter Account
- Add Instagram Account
- Post to Social Accounts
- Review your social account's privacy notice and privacy policy.
- Click Continue.
- Log into your social account.
- Allow Site Manager permission to access your account information.
You can now push content from your site to your social media feeds. You can also add your social media posts to pages with the Social Media Page Level Tool.
Add a Direct Post to Your Facebook/Twitter Feed
If you have website administrators who do not use Facebook or Twitter, but need to share updates to your organization's feed, you can give them access to your Social Stream and the social media accounts to post to.
- Go to Site Manager.
- Click Tool Databases.
- Click Social Stream.
- Select the Feeds to Post to.
- Type your Post Text.
- Type Optional Link Information: Link Title and Link URL
- Click Choose Image to select an optional Link Image.
- Click Post to share your post on the selected feeds (or Cancel to discard your changes).
Share a Calendar Event
- Go to Site Manager.
- Click Tool Databases.
- Click Calendar.
- Click on an event in the calendar grid.
- Automatically Post to Facebook: Select the Facebook account to which you would like to post this event.
- Select/deselect Immediate One-time Post to Social Stream.
- Link URL (optional): Type a URL if you want this post to be linked to something other than the event information.
- Select a Schedule Post Date option:

One-Time Event
- Select the Date to post.

Recurring Event
- Day of Event
- Day Before Event
- Week Before Event

One-Time Event
- Select the Date to post.
- Type optional Notify Email Address(es) if you would like to send email notifications.
- Click Save (or click Back to discard your changes). You can also click Delete Event to delete the event from the calendar.
Share an Announcement
- Go to Site Manager.
- Click Tool Databases.
- Click Announcements.
- Click the title of the announcement in the Announcements list.
- Automatically Post to Facebook: Select the Facebook account to which you would like to post this event.
- Type an optional Social Stream URL.
- Click Save (or Cancel to discard your changes).
Share a Blog Post
Your blog posts will be automatically shared on your connected feed as long as they are active.
