Matching Gifts Report

The Matching Gifts Report lets you:

• Monitor the status of Matching Gifts and expected dates

• Sort and filter to see Matching Gifts associated with specific funds

• Cancel a Matching Gift

• View the original transaction associated with a Matching Gift

View Matching Gifts Report

To view Matching Gifts and their progress, go to Reports from the main menu, then select the Matching Gifts tile.

The Matching Gifts results table lists all matching gifts directed toward tax-deductible funds.

At a glance, you can quickly see the Total Matching Gifts across all donors, the details of each matching gift, the associated profiles of the matched gift, and the Status of the matching, or expected matching gift:

• Expected – The matching gift from the Matchee has been entered and is still expecting its match, and the Expected Date is in the future.

• Past Due – The matching gift from the Matchee has been entered and is still expecting its match, and the Expected Date is in the past.

• Cancelled – The matching gift has been cancelled.

• Completed – The matching gift from the Matchee has been entered, and the Matcher has sent in the match.

Additional information is shown for each matching gift:

• Profile: Profile of the matching entity (Matcher)

• Matching Gift Amount

• Associated With: Profile of the original donor (Matchee)

• Status

• Expected Date

• Date Received

• Fund

• Appeal

• Email

• Phone

• Address

• City, State

• Postal Code

Change Report Parameters

By default, this report includes all matching gifts associated with tax-deductible funds. However, you can change the parameters to focus on specific profile types and gift statuses. For more information about adjusting report criteria, visit the Changing Report Parameters and Filters article.

Matching Gift Options

To the right of the matching profile, click the ellipsis icon to open the Action menu.

Depending upon the status of the matching gift, you can choose either of the following actions:

• If the Status is Completed or Cancelled
  • You can choose to View Original Transaction
• If the Status is Past Due or Expected
  • You can choose to View Original Transaction or Cancel Matching Gift

When you select the View Original Transaction option, the system shows the Giving > Transactions list filtered on the original transaction to which the matched gift applies.

When you select the Cancel Matching Gift option, the system displays a confirmation window asking you to confirm the cancellation of the Matching Gift.

If you click the Yes, cancel button, the status of the matching gift on the report changes to Cancelled, and the Expected Amount to be matched no longer appears on the original donor’s transaction.

Download Report

Similar to other reports, universal options are available that allow you to share report parameters and download report results.
