Giving Experience

Giving through your organization’s app or their web giving link is quick and easy. The donation process in the app and through your organization's web giving link are also very similar. We will walk you through the giving flow below.

Gift Details

When you select Give, either on your website or in-app, you will be prompted to enter your gift details:

If your organization has more than one campus, from the Which campus are you donating to? field, select the campus to which to donate.

In the How much would you like to donate? section, you may click on a preselected amount. Your selection appears in the Amount field. If the suggestions are not suitable, you may also type in any amount up to $99,999.99.

From the Where would you like this donation to go? field, select the Fund or Appeal to which you would like to donate.

• If you want this donation to recur, scroll down to the How often would you like to donate? and click the Recurrence button. Select the frequency, the total number of occurrences, and the start date.

• If you want to donate to another fund or appeal, click the +Add Another Donation button. An additional donation line appears, showing the Amount field and the Fund or Appeal selection. To remove an additional donation, click the trashcan icon. You can donate to as many as five Funds or Appeals.

The total donation must be less than $100,000.

Click the Next button at the bottom of your screen to move to the next step in the donation process.

Personal Details

The next step in the donation process is to enter your basic contact information on the personal details page.

• If you have given previously and created a giving passcode, then once you enter your phone number, thewebpage or the app prompts you to enter your giving passcode. If you have forgotten your giving passcode, simply select the reset option to reset your giving passcode.

• If this is your first time donating, enter your phone number, email address, first name, last name, street address and zip code. Click the Next button.

Payment Details

You are now on the payment details page. Here, you can enter your credit or debit card information, or if you check the Use Bank Account box, you can enter your routing and account number.

If you would like to cover the processing fees for your donation, check the Cover our processing fees box, and the system will add the processing fees on top of your donation amount. 

For example, suppose you want to donate $10:

• If you use your credit or debit card, the processing fee is typically 2.9% of your donation, or $0.30, plus $0.30 transaction fee. If you choose to cover the processing fee, your donation total is $10.60 ($10.00 + $0.30 + $0.30).

• If you use your American Express card, the processing fee is typically 3.5% of your donation, or $0.37, plus $0.30 transaction fee. If you choose to cover the processing fee, your donation total is $10.67 ($10.00 + $0.36 + $0.30).

• If you use your bank account, the ACH processing fee is typically 1% of your donation, or $.11, plus $0.30 transaction fee. If you choose to cover the processing fee, your donation total is $10.41 ($10.00 + $0.11 + $0.30).

You can attach a note to your donation in the Include a note with your gift section. Once you have entered your note, you will see a quick overview of your donation, including the amount, the processing fees if you chose to cover them, the fund to which you are giving, and when your donation will be processed.

If you need to adjust your gift details or personal details, you can always click the back button in the top left hand side of your screen to go back to the previous page.

If everything looks correct, click the Donate ($ amount) button.

Confirmation

Once your donation has been processed, you will see a Thank You message. You will also receive an email receipt for your recent donation.

If you made a recurring donation, you will receive two email messages: one to acknowledge the recurring donation, and one for the first of the recurring payments. Both messages, and all recurring receipts, will offer a link to let you cancel the recurring payment.

If this is your first donation, the app prompts you to create a giving passcode. A giving passcode will help make your next donation quicker and easier. Creating a giving passcode is not required. If you do not want to create a giving passcode simply dismiss the prompt. You can learn more about creating and managing your giving passcode in this article.
